Airportin’

I’m sitting in the San Diego airport, which (thankfully) has free wifi. It’s almost an adage - the smaller the place, the more likely it is to have free connectivity. This applies to both airports and hotels, apparently. I stayed this past week at a Sheraton and a Hilton, neither of which had free wifi.

Well….unless you hacked the Hilton, which was easy. See, the wifi in the cafe area of the Hilton was free. So if you went up there and registered for the free lounge connection, it would set you up for 24 hours, and you could then go down to your room (assuming the cloud reached your room) and surf to your heart’s content. Good times.

I’ve now been in San Diego for five days, and have come to the conclusion that it’s ok. It’s not really my speed - it seems like if you lived here, you’d spend twenty percent of your brain worrying about parking spaces, or the lack thereof. But…there are good things, like running at sunrise in Torrey Pines State Park. Ancient, gnarled trees, and sand worn into intricate wind patterns makes me a happy boy.
