One calm week

The other day, one of my co-workers said “I just wish Corporate America would shut down for the week between Christmas and New Years.” Amen to that. I’m sitting in my favorite coffee shop, working away at a decent clip, and the shop is full of people talking, typing, goofing off on their Iphones and their oddly-matte-colored Macbooks (I think at this point I’ve got the only Ibook remaining in the world), and all I can think of is “wouldn’t it be nice if nobody ahd to go to offices today?”
On the other hand, if it was a full holiday the coffee shop wouldn’t be open, so there’s two sides to every story.
